Our company is constantly seeking dedicated sheet music creation staff
who can work as professionals in music transcription and arrangement.
We welcome both all-rounders who can handle a wide range of instruments
such as piano, guitar, bass, a cappella, wind instruments, drums, etc.,
and specialists who are focused on specific instruments like piano or guitar.
The minimum qualifications are:
- Possess a high level of absolute pitch, capable of accurate transcription by ear.
- Fully understand music theory (especially tonality, harmony, counterpoint) and notation.
- Have one or more preferred instruments and sufficient performance experience in live concerts.
In addition to these qualifications, a sense of rhythm, interpretative
ability of music, and general knowledge of music are also required.
We welcome those who can estimate the key of a song by hearing a few seconds
of the performance, accurately identify the constituent sounds of complex
chords, correctly identify the instruments and timbres used in pieces of
music composed of multiple instruments, and are skilled at creating pleasing
arrangements faithful to the original feelings of the sound source.
The sheet music creation software we use is "Finale". You will
need Finale (any version) for the selection process.
Once you start this job, you'll probably find it more challenging than
you might think. In addition to the qualities mentioned above, you also
need the patience and focus to listen to the same part of the same piece
of music over and over, the speed to finish many pieces in a short amount
of time, a sense of responsibility to meet deadlines, stability in the
quality of each work, a big picture view to construct consistent and coherent
notation according to the characteristics and structure of the piece, and
adaptability to understand and respond appropriately to the client's requests.
Please note that we occasionally receive applications from professional
performers, but in the selection process, we primarily judge your suitability
as a "transcriber". The qualifications of a performer and a transcriber
are entirely different. Of course, transcription requires performance skills
and experience, but transcription is not as easy as something you can do
in your spare time from your main job as a player. We only recruit those who want to make "transcription" their main profession.
Our recruitment standards are extremely strict, with an acceptance rate
of about 2% over the past 23 years. Our business model is to create high-quality,
custom-made transcriptions that meet our customers' expectations with a
small, elite team, and we set very strict conditions for staff selection.
Therefore, please understand if you are not selected as a result of the
selection process.
Our company prides itself on having the highest level of transcription accuracy as our major selling point. We absolutely do not tolerate shortcuts, deception,
or careless mistakes. The amount of work will increase or decrease depending
on the quality and consistency of the scores you create. If the quality
of your deliverables continues to be poor, we will terminate the contract.
We appreciate your understanding of our company's policy, and we will continue
to hire and fully support those who always give their best.
Please also read our "Our Philosophy on Music Transcription" page if you'd like.
[Contract Process]
1.
First, we will send you the piece of music that we would like you to transcribe,
and we will inform you of the request details, payment, and initial draft
deadline via email.
2.
You will judge for yourself whether you can complete the production. (We
try to assign songs according to the strengths of our staff, but please
be honest if the request exceeds your capabilities and seems impossible
to complete.)
3.
By the specified initial draft deadline, please send us your initial draft
file. After reviewing the initial draft at our headquarters, if there are
no significant issues with the score you send, we will make necessary minor
corrections and layout adjustments and deliver it to the customer. If there
are significant issues, we will instruct you on what needs to be corrected,
and you will need to send us the second draft by the specified deadline.
If there are still significant issues, you will continue to work on it
until those issues are resolved.
4.
We will inform you of your payment. The amount you receive will be 50-90%
of the production fee that we receive from the customer, depending on the
quality of the score. If we receive high praise from the customer after
delivery, we will increase the payment. If your work is consistently good,
we will periodically increase the standard payment. We will also inform
you of the areas that we corrected at headquarters, so please verify the
correction content and apply it to future productions.
5.
The payment will be transferred to your designated PayPal account at the
end of every month.
[Application Process and Selection Flow]
Please send an email to "office@windssheetmusic.com" indicating
your intention to apply for the selection process, including your full
name, address, phone number, and PayPal account information (for refunding
selection fees). We only accept email addresses that are either from a
home internet service provider or a personally owned domain. Applications
from Gmail, iCloud, other free email services, mobile email, or organization/association
domain emails are not accepted. If you meet the application conditions,
we will send you the audition pieces. We kindly ask you to refrain from
making phone inquiries as it may disrupt our operations.
Furthermore, we accept reapplications from those who have previously applied
and were not selected. However, we kindly ask that you wait for a period
of at least three months before reapplying.
Please note that we cannot accommodate changes to your email address during
the selection process. Personal information provided in resumes or other
documents will not be used for any purposes other than for this selection
process.
